About The Role Our Rural Youth Mental Health (RYMH) team provides individualised, holistic, and collaborative mental health support to young people, 12-25 years, across a range of communities in Western NSW. You will support young people to build their social and emotional well-being, to recognise and manage their mental health through individualised therapeutic support, group work and case management. Working collaboratively within communities and with a range of service partners, you will reduce barriers for young people to engage with services and reduce the impact of mental health challenges. Duties Develop positive therapeutic relationships with young people to support their mental health recovery journey by identifying goals and developing individualised plans, ensuring the client is actively engaged in the process. Coordinate with other service providers including government departments and agencies, schools, health services, GP’s, and allied health providers to ensure that young people are able to access the right support at the right time. Link young people to appropriate services to ensure holistic supports are in place to facilitate recovery. Contribute to and be an active participant in a small and supportive team environment. Skills And Experience As an experienced Social Worker, Psychologist, Mental Health Worker or Case Manager, you'll have: Experience supporting young people experiencing mental health challenges Experience working in rural communities, and an ability to develop and maintain community connections A holistic, person centered approach with a calm, reassuring and confident manner Experience conducting assessments, providing case management, psychological interventions, counselling or group work Be a natural team player with the capacity to work independently and autonomously A relevant degree qualification in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field and a current driver's license A demonstrated ability to provide outreach supports and well-developed travel and time management skills.
