Job Description

Midwifery Unit Manager - Maternity Services Fixed term temporary full time opportunity to demonstrate accountability at an advanced practice level for leadership, effective coordination, efficient management, and for the monitoring and development of midwifery standards of practice within Maternity Services. Lead and coordinate a midwifery team and/or healthcare team and oversee and provide clinical support or relevant expertise. About You Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with Metro North Health's values: Promote and uphold an environment and culture that facilitates midwives working to full scope of practice to optimise woman-centered care. Monitor standards of midwifery practice and midwifery sensitive indicators, and lead quality improvement activities, research, and education in alignment with Maternity Services and midwifery professional stream strategic direction to ensure high standard of woman and baby centered care. Develop and encourage a learning environment by mentoring and promoting team development and individual capacity building and application of the principles of succession management and mentoring to involve colleagues in ongoing career development and growth. Undertake, and participate in ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
