Women's Assessment Service Midwifery Unit Manager Job no: 891951Work type: Full timeLocation: Adelaide CBDCategories: Nursing/Midwifery About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Women’s and Babies Division as a Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for: Using clinical knowledge and experience to coordinate patient/client care delivery within a Health Unit or Community Service. Managing, coordinating, and leading nursing/midwifery and multidisciplinary team activities to ensure continuity and quality of care and outcomes. Accepting accountability for nursing/midwifery practices and multidisciplinary outcomes in the specific practice setting. Addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy to align with best practices. Developing team performance and fostering a positive work culture to enhance patient/client outcomes. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practising certificate. Registered Midwife or Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post graduation experience or currently classified as a Clinical Midwife or Clinical Nurse/Midwife. Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and relevant professional college standards of practice. Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to review and improve models of care to be person and family centred. Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential. What WCHN Can Offer You Relocation financial support may be negotiated, subject to eligibility.
