THE ROLE Applications are sought from experienced Mine Geologist - Underground, to join the team at Ora Banda. The responsibilities of this role will include: Conduct day to day mine geology activities, including face mapping, face sampling, updating all plans and sections with geology data. Actively assist with wall and backs mapping of all capital and ore development, to ensure regulatory compliance, monitor geotechnical conditions, and build the knowledge base of the deposit. Collect structural measurements on each face, wall and backs mapping, and core logging. Assist in the interpretation of the deposit’s structure, lithology, alteration and mineralisation by quality face and wall mapping and sampling, and core logging. Document and communicate the underground geology activities as part of the Technical team to ensure that activities are aligned to achieve an efficient mining cycle for development headings. Provide geological information to ensure the accurate reporting of daily and weekly ore UG trucking movement and surface stockpile balances. Weekly and end of month checks on UG trucking dataset. Assist with the design and supervision of underground drilling programs as required. Assist with producing high quality geological logging of GC diamond core, and plan/section interpretation. Contribute to the Daily and weekly planning of ore movement. Work collaboratively with the Technical team and Mining team to ensure delivery of the daily plan, weekly plan, and 3 month schedule. Provide instruction and training for Graduate Geologists. A full position description will be given to shortlisted candidates prior to interview. ABOUT YOU To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: Tertiary qualification Bachelor Science (Geology) or equivalent from a recognised institution. Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role. Previous use of mining software - Micromine, Leapfrog, Geobank. Member AIG, AusIMM or similar. Awareness of the Workplace Health and Safety Act & Regulations. ERT experience and willingness to join OBM’s ERT is preferred. Current WA manual driver’s Licence. Current First Aid certificate.
