The Role Our clients are a young and dynamic farming family who pride themselves on farming sustainably with a real passion for animal health and welfare and producing high-quality broadacre crops. Currently seeking a motivated farm hand, they pride themselves on being a progressive employer and offering a family-friendly, fun, professional, and welcoming environment. The main operation is located on 4,500 acres near Grenfell, which has been complemented in recent years, with 4,500 acres located 20 minutes out of Forbes, NSW. This well-set-up mixed farming operation is currently dryland cropping 3,000 hectares using well-maintained, modern farming plants and equipment, including modern technologies. The livestock enterprise includes 6,500 self-replacing merino ewes, with 30% joined to terminal sires. Applications are encouraged from candidates with either livestock or cropping experience as well as those with mixed focus, as the employer is happy to mould the role to the right candidate. The Offer A quality remuneration package will be negotiated and feature an hourly rate with penalty rates, allowing an impressive annual earning ability for the successful candidate. You will be accommodated in a comfortable four-bedroom home overlooking the valley and providing easy access to all required amenities in Grenfell, just 15 minutes away. The Ideal Candidate Ideally, you will have a few years of experience in a similar role and have a strong interest in either sheep, cropping or both, as well as having the following attributes: Self-starter who can work autonomously or within a small team Strong communication and record-keeping skills Understanding of sheep and their animal husbandry requirements Own working dogs (advantageous) Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills Truck licence or willingness to obtain Cropping cycle knowledge Familiarity and competence in operating large machinery Chemical User certificate and experience with weed control.
