Someone who puts excellence, compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.As an experienced and influential National WorkCover Manager reporting directly to the National Director Work Health Safety and Wellbeing, you will lead a team of workers compensation specialists across our organisation. Your role will ensure best practice injury management for all St Vincent's employees who have sustained work related injury or illness. You will facilitate in the development and management of reporting, processes and procedures to effectively manage claims with the overall goal to positively influence return to work outcomes and workers compensation premiums.This position will be offered as Permanent Full Time and will be based out of our Group Office in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne while working nationally across St Vincent's.Key responsibilities of the role: Develop and maintain St Vincent's workers compensation related procedures and programs Lead, mentor and manage the day-to-day activities of your team, fostering a high performance operating environment while collaborating with other divisions and external stakeholders alike Leading the continuous improvement of WorkCover initiatives and support St Vincent's at external WHS forums as needed Provide advice on complex cases, manage senior and executive compensation claims, and provide backup support for the Injury Management team Audit workers compensation and injury management processes regularly to ensure compliance and effectiveness of procedures Things that work for us: Qualifications in Return to Work Coordination for relevant jurisdictions Tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Psychology, Nursing or similar field, or qualified by experience 10+ years demonstrated experience managing claims for a complex organisation with a wide range of professions Excellent working knowledge of workers compensation legislation, practice and trends, including insurer requirements and a great understanding of injury management/rehabilitation Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills and experience with a strong early intervention and return to work focus Proven ability to influence, negotiate and provide guidance and support on complex cases Experience with legal issues and settlements, including collaborating with insurers, solicitors, and unions Things that work for you: Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its service Competitive salary packaging options Discounted private health insurance Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families Access to the Fitness Passport (FP) Why become part of St Vincent's Health Australia Because you're like us, you believe in our vision that every person, whoever and wherever they are, is served with excellent and compassionate care, by a better and fairer health and aged care system.
