We are seeking an enthusiastic Nurse Manager experienced in Palliative Care to work within our specialised team in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia! Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Please refer to the WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program website for eligibility criteria. This position is located at the Kalgoorlie Health Campus. Kalgoorlie is Australia’s largest Outback city where mining, history and bushland combine, located 595 km east-northeast of Perth. As a Nurse Manager in this role, you would be responsible for providing leadership, operational management and nursing consultancy for the palliative care service within the region. To be successful, you will have the following: Leadership experience in the establishment, delivery and evaluation of clinical services. Extensive clinical expertise, including application of research and evidence-based practice in palliative care. Advanced interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills, including e-health technology. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates application of quality and risk management principles with service delivery, practice and evaluation. Knowledge of current health issues and the organisational culture of rural health services, particularly in the area of delivery of health services for critical but low volume need and indigenous partnerships. Area Profile The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent.
