Clinical Nurse (Specialist Palliative Care in Residential Aged Care Facilities) Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. About the opportunity: Position: Clinical Nurse (Specialist Palliative Care in Residential Aged Care Facilities) Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 56 hours per fortnight Location: Palliative Care, Townsville University Hospital The position provides high quality clinical care to meet the palliative care needs of residential aged care residents across the care continuum. This includes: Telephone triage of palliative care needs of residential aged care residents. Follow up of residential aged care residents after palliative care intervention. Follow up of residential aged care residents admitted for inpatient care within the palliative care unit. Outreach to residential aged care homes. Education to residential aged care home nursing staff to support clinical care. Enjoy a generous remuneration package including: Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. Requirements: Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus. Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
