What you'll be doing This position provides specialist assessment and ongoing care of patients with Drug & Alcohol (D&A) problems in accordance with the best evidence-based practice and organisational policies. The position has a strong clinical leadership role and is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team providing Drug & Alcohol interventions. The Nurse Practitioner Drug Health Services role includes assessment and management of clients using nursing knowledge and skills which may include, but are not limited to, the direct referral of clients to other health care professionals, prescribing medications, and ordering diagnostic investigations. The Nurse Practitioner Drug Health Services is grounded in the nursing profession’s values, knowledge, theories, and practice and provides innovative and flexible health care delivery that complements other health care providers. Essential Requirements Relevant qualification Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulations Agency (AHPRA) Selection criteria Registered Authorised Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA that has completed the tertiary requirements including a Master Degree (Nurse Practitioner). Demonstrated understanding of the Drug Health care delivery system and ability to lead and implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation, and review of evidence-based research. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills, competence and leadership in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with D&A needs. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current and trending issues impacting on the provision of D&A care. Demonstrated high level advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums. Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while also working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multi-service environment.
