About the Role Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.The Nursing Unit Manager role is responsible for the operational management and leadership of nursing/staff to ensure the provision of high quality patient and family centred care and nursing and or midwifery excellence at unit/ward level. The Nursing Unit Manager Level 2 responsibilities in relation to patient services, ward or unit management and staff management are in excess of those of a Nursing Unit Manager Level1.The Upper Gastrointestinal Ward (7 East 1) is a high activity and high acuity ward caring for patients admitted under the upper gastrointestinal specialty and patients from other specialties. The preferred applicant will have experience managing a complex ward and dealing with day-to-day operations such as patient flow management.For more information, please view the Position Description . Ideal Candidate Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA). Experience in rostering; managing skill mix and care delivery models according to patient/service need. Proficient problem solving, communication and negotiation skills.
