Occupation Health Safety and Emergency Management Advisor Permanent Full Time, up to 76 or 80 hours per fortnight with optional ADO Management & Administrative Officers Grade 4 ($42.33684 per hour excluding salary packaging) ( Junior rates apply to employees aged under 19 years ) West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is seeking a dedicated OHS/Emergency Management Advisor to lead our emergency management system and support overall health and safety across the organisation. This role will focus on improving emergency preparedness, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with AS 3745, AS 4083, and the State Emergency Management Plan-Health Emergency Sub Plan. The position will also support business continuity planning and foster a strong safety culture. Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager, the Advisor will collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to drive best practices in emergency management and workplace safety. This is a permanent full time position of 76 or 80 hours per fortnight with optional ADO, to be worked from Monday-Friday, exact hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Our preferred candidate will have: Demonstrated experience in emergency management and occupational health & safety within a complex organisation. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and compliance requirements, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004 and Victorian Emergency Management Arrangements. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to educate and influence at all levels. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and apply a risk-based approach to problem-solving. A proactive and collaborative mindset, fostering a strong safety culture within an organisation. The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous: Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment. Knowledge of Victorian State Emergency Management Arrangements. Familiarity with business continuity management and incident response frameworks. Training experience, including the use of Learning Management Systems and Virtual Reality training platforms. Understanding of AIIMS (Australasian Interagency Incident Management System) or similar emergency response models. IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.
