Occupational Therapist - Cranbourne West Secondary College Part-time Join us at headspace! headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation with EACH being one of the lead agencies. Each year, we help thousands of young people, and their family and friends, access vital support through our headspace services in over 145 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools. Part-time (0.6 FTE) ongoing position with flexible working days Co-located at Cranbourne West Secondary, forming part of the wider headspace team $48.60 - $58.09 p/Hr + Super + generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550 We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative Occupational Therapist to be a part of our headspace team. This position will work with students to ensure that they can successfully engage and participate in their education through classroom and other school-based activities. The successful applicant will be skilled in a variety of therapies and behavioral-based interventions to effectively support students. Along with the ability to manage a caseload of students, you will possess highly effective collaboration skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders, i.e. Child protection, tertiary services, Youth Justice, and other mental health community services. An important aspect of this role is the ability to identify sensory processing and/or sensory modulation difficulties and to create class implementation plans for teachers to respond to. Other duties include teaching emotional regulation skills to students and facilitating social skills training and communication skills training (individual and groups). About you Minimum of tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration Sound knowledge of current theory and practice in occupational therapy Highly developed listening and communication skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to manage own workload and set priorities without supervision Knowledge of typical and atypical childhood development Capacity to engage and form positive relationships with children, particularly children with developmental differences.
