Together we can do more. The Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit is a 6 bed specialist acute mental health statewide inpatient unit located within the grounds of Shellharbour Hospital. The unit provides a safe, developmentally appropriate, and therapeutic environment, allowing comprehensive diagnostic assessments, therapeutic programs, and management of children and adolescents between 12 to 17 years (inclusive) with serious mental health presentations.A Little About Us. Shellharbour Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is a busy acute care facility which provides emergency services, elective surgical services, general medicine, antenatal and primary family health care, satellite renal dialysis, and adolescent and adult mental health services on site.
