Government of South Australia Adelaide, South Australia, Australia 3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants An opportunity to work in a dynamic Office Manager role supporting the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council , Hon Heidi Girolamo MLC , Shadow Minister for Education, Shadow Minister for Cost of Living, and Shadow Minister for Finance & Tax Reform . The Office Manager is an engaging and fulfilling role that directly supports the Member in a parliamentary, portfolio, administrative, and electorate capacity, with support from a part-time Assistant. The ideal candidate has efficient time management to handle the various roles, with effective diary coordination. They should be comfortable answering inbound calls and emails with a friendly and supportive demeanour from constituents with complex enquiries, and from other offices and stakeholders. They should also possess a strategic attitude and willingness to collaborate with other Shadow Ministers, government, and stakeholders, and produce high-quality policy and speeches that align with the Member’s beliefs. Whilst the Member’s office consists of a small team, you will be supported by a highly knowledgeable and skilled Leader of the Opposition’s office and be based in Parliament House among an experienced team of Legislative Council offices. Member’s offices also receive direct support from the Parliament, including a Research Library, HR, Parliamentary Counsel, as well as an in-house canteen. Primary duties: Portfolio and Political Advisory (Research, stakeholder engagement, media monitoring and strategy, and paper writing for Education, Cost of Living, Finance & Tax Reform) Parliamentary (speech writing, legislation, Freedom of Information applications) Committee (Budget & Finance committee, question drafting) Office Management (email management, phone management, HR, stationery, troubleshooting and escalating IT matters) Diary Manager & Executive Assistance duties (meetings, events, assistance to the Member) Constituent Manager (handling and escalating of constituent enquiries) Communications & Strategy (e-newsletters, mailouts, letter drafting, email drafting) Highly regarded skills: Speech & Policy writing Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Highly regarded experience: Previous experience working for a Member of Parliament Previous experience in Education Previous experience in Law There is also possibility for a part-time basis for the right candidate.
