Position: Nurse Unit Manager Hospital sector: Public Hospital in regional Victoria Area of expertise: Theatre or Interventional Suite Hours: Monday to Friday Benefits: Competitive salary – Nurse Manager 3 + 11.5% superannuation, Salary Packaging with other allowances and benefits The Position: The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) plays a key role in delivering safe, coordinated, and high-quality patient care within their unit, ensuring that care is patient-centred and delivered in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The NUM is accountable for driving positive patient outcomes while fostering staff satisfaction and engagement. This is achieved by cultivating strong partnerships and providing effective leadership and management of nursing staff and resources within the team. Key Responsibilities include: Code of Conduct Performance Management Compliance with policies and procedures Analysis and Problem Solving Communicate with influence Occupational Health and Safety Quality Improvement What we need from you: Preference is for candidates with at least 2 years of experience as a NUM or ANUM in Theatre or an Interventional Suite Current Registered Nurse with active AHPRA registration. Minimum of 2 years' management experience in a surgical or relevant clinical specialty. Proven ability to implement innovative care models, lead and support change, and foster a dynamic, collaborative team culture within perioperative services. Demonstrated success in leading and motivating clinical service teams, providing clear strategic direction and positive leadership. Strong management and operational expertise, including budget development, monitoring, and a solid understanding of financial and workforce management principles, with the ability to navigate relevant systems and documentation. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, set clear goals, and meet deadlines effectively. Proven experience in quality improvement processes and activities. Ability to introduce new concepts through innovation, influencing, negotiating and persuasion skills. Post Graduate qualifications in Peri-operative Nursing or Health Administration/Management. Demonstrated awareness of current issues and trends in relation to clinical practice, education and research.
