Job Description Introduction: The Operations Director role oversees the strategic and operational management of services to ensure they align with the Value Care group’s mission of providing care services in the nursing, disability and aged care sectors across Australia. This is a national leadership role that focuses on service excellence, operational efficiency, compliance, and fostering a strong organizational culture across various group entities. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute operational strategies that align with the organization’s vision and goals. Collaborate with the executive team to build organisational growth, influence long-term planning and policy development. Drive innovation and improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer outcomes. Operational Management: Oversee the delivery of care services across all locations, ensuring high standards of supports and participant satisfaction. Implement efficient processes and systems to manage caseloads, scheduling, and resource allocation. Monitor and analyze performance metrics to ensure operational excellence and identify areas for improvement. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all operations comply with the various standards (NDIS, Aged Care, Nursing etc.), legislative requirements, and organizational policies. Lead internal audits and manage external reviews to maintain accreditation and mitigate risks. Develop and maintain robust quality assurance frameworks to continuously improve service outcomes. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a national team of Service Directors, Managers and care coordinators. Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development. Foster a supportive environment that aligns with the group’s values and promotes staff retention. Participant and Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with participants, families, and caregivers to understand and meet their needs. Collaborate with external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and advocacy groups. Act as a key representative for the organization in public forums, meetings, and industry events. Financial and Resource Management: Oversee budgeting and financial planning for operational areas, ensuring sustainable service delivery. Manage resources efficiently, optimizing staffing, technology, and facilities. Drive revenue generation and cost-efficiency initiatives to support organizational sustainability. Risk Management: Identify and address risks related to service delivery, compliance, and organizational reputation. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with relevant teams. Ensure regular executive and board reporting on key risk indicators and their mitigation strategies. Desired Skills and Experience Key Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Social Work, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications or an MBA are highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in senior leadership roles within the disability, nursing, aged care, community, or healthcare sectors. Proven experience managing diverse, large-scale operations in compliance-driven environments. Comprehensive knowledge of the industry frameworks (NDIS, Aged Care etc.) and its application in service delivery organisations. Skills: Strategic thinking with the ability to translate the vision into actionable plans. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong financial acumen and resource management capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in operational tools and systems, with a focus on technology-driven efficiencies. Certifications: A willingness to undergo background checks and meet any other requirements mandated by regulatory bodies or employers. NDIS Workers Screening Check. National Police Check. Working with Children Check. A full and current Australian Driver’s License. The role requires ability to travel nationally to oversee operations, engage with teams on the ground, and meet with stakeholders. While primarily office-based, the position also involves community engagement and participation in sector events.
