Operations Manager/Senior Group Leader - Swimming Experiences Queensland, Australia Cross Country Swimming Queensland, Australia We are excited to announce a new role within the Training For Trips and Venture Expeditions family of companies overseeing the next phase of growth in our varied themes of Australian and International Swimming related adventures, expeditions, holidays, coaching camps, distance swims and retreats. Working closely with the CEO on the Gold Coast, we are seeking the expertise of an experienced adventure travel industry professional to manage a suite of trips in Australia and around the world, alongside a team of passionate leaders and destination team members. With the ability to work remotely and from the head office, this position is ideal for those not necessarily located on the Gold Coast but wishing to continue in their career in adventure travel, all things swimming and responsible tourism with a flexible working arrangement. Cross Country Swimming is part of a group of companies in adventure travel that have over 25 years of experience operating authentic and unique adventure holidays with a genuine focus on the paths less travelled. As leaders in swimming related multi activity travel, we focus on sustainable and regenerative tourism practices and offer big adventures with a small footprint. You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to): Managing a suite of trips related or including swimming as a key inclusion for motivated clients with varied motivations for including their passion on their adventures. Supporting clients with sales requests - for group and private itineraries - including designing and customizing the perfect trip and experience. Liaising with ground operators in each area on itineraries, costs, quality controls, private groups and positive impact projects. Writing trip copy for inclusion in brochures/website. Writing trip notes and pre-departure information for each trip. Assessing feedback from client questionnaires and responding to same. Trouble shooting. Product comparisons. Ensuring trips in the field operate to the highest environmental and safety standards, including deliberate and considered choice of accommodation. Creating ground breaking itineraries which satisfy our travellers' thirst for adventure. Recruiting, training and developing the next phase of group leaders and swim guides, sometimes in the local and regional countries we run and design our programs. To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following competencies: Minimum of 2 years of travel industry experience, preferably in a similar role and in adventure travel ideally. Comprehensive first hand travel experience to many of our destinations, such as Japan, Australia, Greece, Indonesia, Galapagos, Borneo (Malaysia and Indonesia), Fiji, Solomon, Philippines, NZ, Scotland. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to use initiative and think laterally. Great written and verbal communication, organisational and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Office 365 suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and some CMS experience desirable, along with self-sufficiency and capacity to learn systems quickly. A drive to contribute positively to the team, capacity to build a strong rapport with stakeholders and to participate in conferences, info nights and events. A genuine passion for adventure travel with open water swimming focus and the capacity to translate this into creating innovative itineraries. A genuine love of swimming - pool, ocean, fresh water - and spending time with like-minded aquatic lovers. General interest in all things active - cycling, walking, hiking, running (on and off road), rafting, kayaking. Curiosity about the world and themes of travel people enjoy - wildlife, photography, architecture, culture, education, arts (from classics to martial!), team building, history. Job Type: Full-time, Part-time/Casual (can be negotiated for great candidate still heavily involved in current work or project), Fixed term, Contract. Salary: Skills and Experience Based, AOR.
