The Role Are you a talented and highly motivated professional looking to make a significant impact? We are currently seeking an Optimisation Manager to join our dynamic Engineering and Optimisation team at Squadron Energy. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Engineering and Optimisation, the purpose of this role will be to enhance the operational efficiency and maximize the energy output across our diverse portfolio of assets. Key responsibilities: Develop and execute the optimisation strategy for renewable energy assets (wind, solar, batteries), gas peaking generation and the Port Kembla Gas Import Terminal. Lead cross-technology optimisation strategies. Develop, and mentor a team of optimisation engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Analyze performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement in energy production and operational processes. Work closely with the Facilities Engineering Team and Stay in Business (SIB) Projects team to achieve the Engineering and Optimisation team goals. Coordinate across operations, asset management and energy trading to optimize asset performance that aligns with business and project goals and timelines. Oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytical models and tools to support optimisation efforts. About you You will have: Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Strong knowledge of energy systems, renewables and thermal asset optimisation experience. Demonstrated experience managing teams and leading projects in a dynamic environment. Solid understanding of energy markets and revenue maximization levers. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Proficient in SCADA Systems, simulation software and data analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Python, Excel) and project management tools.
