Job Description

Boxes To Go is an SME sized family-owned company. We specialise in packaging manufacture and supply in the corrugated and box board market. We have in-house manufacturing capability for short run cartons in both plain and printed finish and we partner with larger operators to service high volume clients. As an experienced Packaging Designer, you will have at least five years of experience in graphic and/or packaging design, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD preferred), and the ability to visualise complex dyelines and constructions. This role involves managing new quotes, designs, and samples while engaging in creative discussions and providing design advice to sales and operations staff. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop a range of innovative packaging solutions for a diverse customer base. Manage new quotes, designs, and sample making requirements, ensuring all designs enhance our manufacturing chain, including Corrugating, Converting, and Distribution. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage customer packaging audits/reviews of new and existing packaging. Utilise your expertise in CAD design and your experience in the packaging industry to excel in this role. Based on your skill set, there may be additional tasks and responsibilities to ensure a comprehensive role within our team. Key Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design, packaging design, or illustration. A background in Flexo Graphic Printing is a plus. Tertiary qualification in Graphic or Industrial Design or a related field is advantageous but not essential. Strong understanding of complex dyelines and packaging construction. Proficient in creating in-house mocks and prototypes of packaging, with the ability to export for final art. A team player who is open to creative feedback, engages in creative discussions, and follows through with art direction when required. Ability to self-manage project deadlines and delivery requirements. Capable of providing design advice to Sales, Estimators, and Operations staff as needed. Skilled in interpreting design briefs provided by the sales team and completing custom design tasks as allocated by the system. Comfortable assisting in the manufacture of packaging samples as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
