This role is integral to our Site Leadership Team, providing leadership to the Packaging department whilst establishing and maintaining a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement. While making a profound impact on our people and performance, you will be empowered to further your career in manufacturing leadership and grow your range of skills. Key Responsibilities Determination of manufacturing process capability and identification of line constraints to improve business unit profitability. Develop, own and ensure execution of the manufacturing Continuous Improvement plan. Plan, direct and control the end-to-end operations within the packaging department. Ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness through compliance with all relevant Environment, Health and Safety, Quality standards and policies as well as applicable Legal requirements. Improve organisation effectiveness through the development and deployment of solutions to improve productivity and drive a performance culture. Align leaders and shift teams on-site to broader business objectives and values. About You 5 - 7 years’ leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG. A demonstrated achievement of continuous improvement & change management in a traditional manufacturing environment. Intimate knowledge of ISO and / or Safety management systems in their application in an FMCG environment. Demonstrated knowledge of GMP/HACCP and GFSI compliance standards. Budget preparation and P&L management in a manufacturing environment. Experience with other continuous improvement programs e.g. Lean, Six Sigma. Strong Relationship Management (negotiation and influencing) skills, particularly within a unionised environment. Degree qualifications in Management, Food Technology, Science, Engineering or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
