Flexibility is key, and you have the option of working either Monday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Friday on a part time, fixed term of two years on 60.8 hours per fortnight as part of a funded Pilot Program aimed at improving the lives of families. Reporting to the Coordinator, Child and Parent Centre, the primary purpose of this role is to strengthen parental literacy via the provision of tailored education opportunities to children, young people and parents engaged in Family and Community Service interventions within diverse cultural communities. You will be based at our Balga Child and Parent Centre, facilitating parental workshops and providing valuable advice and support on referral pathways in the context of child development and parenting. About you You’ll be that resilient, compassionate and vibrant person that others want to be around, the one that inspires hope and self-belief in tough times, and imparts a vision for a new and better future, paving the way with practical steps to get there (with some humour along the way!). Active listening, sensitivity, absolute discretion and a deep understanding of a person-centred approach will ensure you discern best course of action when providing guidance, advice and direction on referral pathways. You will have a passion for childhood development and sound experience in delivering parental workshops in a similarly influential role. You will also have knowledge and experience across the following: Degree qualified and/or qualifications attained through previous appointments or study Minimum of two years experience in a similar role delivering therapeutic interventions is desirable Sound knowledge of case work practice within the community service or health sectors.
