Exciting opportunity for an experienced service driven hands-on practice manager / senior team leader to join and lead a friendly, committed team in our elegant long established CBD Brisbane general practice. Busy role, different from the norm in: Scope: skill extension, wide-ranging Environment: dynamic, innovative and lovely (worth a look) It's a special place and we are looking for a special and accomplished person for this senior role. On-site part-time role 2-3 days a week. Doctor owned and operated, small to medium sized, close-knit practice, providing high quality, comprehensive and caring personal health services to Brisbane CBD and corporate community and their families. With a sophisticated and professional client base, our practice sits in a space between general and specialty practice. We have a strong focus on comprehensive health care, including preventive, general medicine and mental health care. We also offer corporate medicine programs to CBD companies. This role would suit a confident manager who is interested in making a medium to long term contribution to practice streamlining, development, and change and project management. The team comprises the business owners who play an active part in the management and success of the practice. There are 9 mainly part-time doctors, 5 medical consult rooms, 1 treatment room, a visiting cardiac tech group (who perform resting echocardiograms), as well as a pathology provider onsite. We have a lovely team of casual junior to senior receptionists, most of whom are able to perform treatment room duties. We are looking for an ambitious and ethical professional to: Lead our team to manage day-to-day running of our lovely practice, providing an outstanding, warm and attentive customer service to our long-term patients. Develop and streamline the practice, facilitate change including management of projects, and support our health professionals to deliver exceptional care. This Will Include: Variable but some 'hands-on' front desk reception and admin tasks and face-to-face patient contact. Recruitment, training, monitoring, development and leadership of admin team including staff rosters and customer service coaching. Marketing, financial reporting (no bookkeeping required) and improvement of profitability. Improvement of work processes and facilitating change management. Liaison with bookkeeper and reporting to two practice principal doctors, including regular meetings. Opportunity for liaison and mentoring with PM consultants. Monitoring of budget and achieving business goals. Ensuring compliance with Medicare and other professional and government guidelines. IT management. Management and upkeep of the treatment room. Problem solving including complaint management and resolution. Ensuring engagement of doctors. Maintaining a positive workplace culture for both patients and staff, consistent with the values of the practice. Essential Criteria: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including ability to deal with difficult and sensitive issues in a mature and calm manner. Immaculate corporate presentation with a high standard of integrity. Demonstrated commitment to high level customer service delivery. Strong and proven management experience in a similar role, including management of staff and a successful office, minimum 3 years. Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task, and a strong attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Self-directed, quick thinking, reliable and highly motivated. An in-depth knowledge of the medical industry including Medicare, private billing, and work cover. Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot. Proactive ability to supervise, manage, and motivate staff including some HR management. Thorough knowledge of medical software, including booking and billing platforms and General Practice processes and billing. Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills. An understanding or experience in general practice accreditation and standards. Pleasant demeanor. A good understanding of running a small business. Desirable Criteria: Practice management experience of at least 3 years, preferably at least one year in General Practice. Experience with Best Practice an advantage. Proficiency in change management including practice accreditation, and streamlining. Qualification or working towards the achievement of qualifications in front line management or Cert IV in Business management or equivalent. Desire for further growth and development.
