Exciting Opportunity – Permanent, Part-time, Gladstone | The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to the delivery of customer focused payroll service to clients of Queensland Health through payroll and related administrative processes and systems. The role You will play a vital role in supporting Clinical Pathology and Specimen Reception services by performing specimen processing, dispatch, and phlebotomy duties with accuracy and care. Responsibilities include data entry, basic quality control, maintaining workstations and equipment, and liaising with patients and medical staff to ensure the correct collection and handling of specimens. Adherence to health and safety policies, ethical standards, and patient confidentiality is essential, along with the ability to exercise initiative in resolving moderately complex issues. The position requires participation in shift, weekend, and after-hours work, with occasional relief at other district laboratories as needed. Success in this role requires proficiency in computerised systems, knowledge of Clinical Pathology and Specimen Reception procedures, and an understanding of medical terminology and blood collection techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. A high level of attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions are key to ensuring the efficient operation of services.
