Job Description

Introduction:We are currently seeking a Payroll & HR Officer to join our team based in Bowen Hills in a fulltime permanent capacity. The role will report through to the Head of People & Culture and will be a dual role looking after both payroll and HR functions. The payroll function will require the timely payroll processing for our Australian based employees. The role will also be responsible for supporting the day to day HR functions for our APAC region with a focus on recruitment activities, employee lifecycle and onboarding, supporting the business with policies and procedures and contributing to the improvement of the overall delivery of HR services within the business.Description:Typical daily tasks include: End to end payroll utilising ELMO HR and Payroll System, including payroll tax, PAYG tax, FBT, superannuation, workers compensation and income payment summaries. First point of contact for pay-related enquiries from employees. Management of shared payroll inbox. Interpretation and application of awards, agreements and contracts, ensuring pays are distributed accurately and on time. Management of the employee lifecycle including (new starters, secondments, transfers, promotions, change of status, and exits and terminations). Work with leaders to support the recruitment process from initiation to offer stage. End to end recruitment from job posting, reviewing position descriptions, shortlisting activities, screening of applicants, interview coordination, reference checking, psychometric assessments (where applicable), relevant employment checks, contract preparation and issuing. Assist with the development and implementation of thorough and effective onboarding to ensure new recruits are confident and proficient within their first 6 months of hire. Maintenance of HRIS (ELMO Software) and other systems through data entry, maintenance and reporting. Generation of reports as required by management. Maintenance of policies and procedures, including review and update of documents in alignment with changes to legislation and organisation policy. Handling first line employee relations queries relating to policy and procedures (performance management, appraisals processes, leave entitlements and other queries). Assist with the performance management process for employees (annual review process and probation reviews). Skills and Experiences: To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Strong full function payroll experience, with demonstrated working knowledge of Modern Awards and payroll legislation; Tertiary qualifications in HR or related discipline (or relevant industry experience) ELMO HR and Payroll (KeePay) experience highly desirable Previous experience in an HR role (administration, coordination) - 2 years plus Experience in HRIS as a systems administrator of a HRIS (ELMO Software package experience - highly desirable) Proven skills in managing end to end recruitment processes and activities Ability to interpret and apply employment legislation and award information including WH&S, EEO, Anti-discrimination, NES, Payroll, Superannuation, Workers Compensation and other relevant Acts Skills in engaging with multi-dispersed stakeholder groups, bringing high level verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated analytical and data management skills Eye for detail and high level of accuracy.
