Payroll and Leave Specialist - Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools This position can be located at: Lismore, NSW, or Coffs Harbour, NSW Full-time, permanent position. Start date to be negotiated with the successful candidate. Relocation assistance available. Position Purpose: Under the direction of the Team Leader, Payroll, undertake a high-volume of payroll processing utilising the positional based EmpowerHR software to all employees of DLCS and the 45 Schools in the Diocese of Lismore. As a Payroll and Leave Specialist this role supports the underlying Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Lismore by delivering services that contribute to enabling students to achieve the fullness of life. Work Requirements: A current/valid Australian Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment Requirement to travel between locations (as required). Qualifications: Qualifications in payroll or accounting and/or a minimum three (3) years experience in a large organisation with high volume payroll processing with end-to-end production knowledge and skills. Work Experience: At least three (3) years experience working in a large organisation with high volume payroll processing with end-to-end production knowledge and skills. Experience with education payroll is highly desirable. Key Capabilities: Experience with cloud-based payroll software (EmpowerHR is highly regarded but not essential). Demonstrated experience in the application of NSW Long Service Leave legislation. Demonstrated above average skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software. Strong attention to detail with sound analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be organised, efficient and able to multitask, with a drive to achieve continuous improvement in the overall payroll process. Proven ability to interpret multiple and complex employee conditions such as awards, enterprise agreements as well as a sound understanding of current legislation such as superannuation, long service leave, Australian taxation and workers compensation. Proven ability to work as an effective team member within a collaborative team environment. Plus, the following generic criteria: Knowledge of WHS and equity principles in the workplace.
