Job Description The opportunity. This contract position will be primarily accountable for: Supporting the Head of People & Capability to deliver key people projects and initiatives aligned to the Bank’s strategic plan. Supporting the People & Capability team to ensure the people function operates in line with Defence Bank’s policy, legal and regulatory requirements across the employee life cycle, including being an escalation point for the team. Partnering with stakeholders and leaders regarding people matters to support people engagement, workforce planning and managing complex cases through to resolution as required. Desired Skills and Experience About you. Known for your broad employee relations knowledge and customer first mindset, you have a knack for understanding people and the ability to quickly understand and execute projects that improve the employee experience. You’re comfortable working across all aspects of the employee lifecycle and you’re enthusiastic about change with the ability to roll up your sleeves to do what’s needed. Equally as important you’re a team player who works collaboratively with others, you see the big picture while understanding how the parts fit together. You have: At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources/People and Culture ideally within a medium-sized customer-focussed corporate environment. Strong employee relations experience and the ability to lead complex people projects/initiatives autonomously. Prior Human Resources/People and Culture experience within banking and/or financial services, or knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and legislation relevant to running an Australian bank would be advantageous, but not essential. Tertiary qualifications in human resources will be well regarded. We count on you. And you can count on us.
