Petroleum Engineer - Inactive and Geothermal Wells Professional 3 - Remuneration Package $130,087 - $145,485 Petroleum Operations Darwin Ongoing vacancy available Role Overview: Perform regulatory assessments, provide advice, and carry out monitoring and compliance activities as part of the regulation of the upstream and midstream petroleum and geothermal industries in the Northern Territory. Responsibilities: Assist with the ongoing management, reporting, and monitoring of orphan wells, decommissioning or decommissioned wells across the NT. Conduct compliance and monitoring activities onsite, including overnight stays in remote locations. Review and assess notifications submitted under relevant legislation. Conduct investigations and report on incidents as required. Assist with the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures for regulating petroleum and geothermal energy operations. Prepare reports, memorandums, briefs, and complex correspondence as required. Manage compliance data and undertake administrative duties as required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver outcomes while being flexible with changing priorities. Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate must hold a tertiary degree in a relevant field of Engineering.
