Breast Cancer Care WA is a unique not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to providing free specialist breast care nursing, mental health, peer support, as well as practical and financial assistance to all Western Australians and their families both during and after a breast cancer diagnosis. Established in 2000, the organisation grew from one woman’s commitment to make a difference in the lives of people with breast cancer. Today, their vision is to ensure that all people living in WA have access to the best breast cancer support and education. Breast Cancer Care WA is entirely funded through donations and appeals such as Purple Bra Day; however, with growing demand for services they need to secure additional financial support to ensure they can continue delivering our essential services to all Western Australians. About the Role Reporting to the General Manager of Fundraising and Marketing, the Philanthropy Executive plays a pivotal role within the Fundraising team, driving the organization’s strategic objectives for Major Gift revenue. Success in this role will be achieved by cultivating and maintaining high-value relationships with mid-to-major donors, trusts, and foundations while proactively identifying and securing new funding opportunities. Through strategic engagement and stewardship, the Philanthropy Executive will contribute to the organization’s long-term financial sustainability and impact. Role Responsibilities Cultivate and steward major donors to retain support and secure new gifts. Develop and implement strategies to identify, engage, and convert new major donors. Create compelling proposals, asks, and cases for support in collaboration with the GM Fundraising & Marketing. Plan and deliver engagement events and activities for major donors and prospects. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective major donors with regular reporting. Manage and grow the bequest program by identifying, nurturing, and securing future gifts. Execute and steward confirmed bequests, ensuring meaningful donor recognition. Oversee grant applications, including research, writing, and relationship management with trusts and foundations. Maintain and manage a grants calendar to track funding opportunities. Drive donor engagement through personalised communications, events, and digital campaigns. Essential Skills and Attributes Tertiary qualifications in non-profit management, communications, marketing, or related fields. Proven success in major gifts or philanthropic fundraising, consistently achieving financial targets. Strong relationship management skills with high emotional intelligence and empathy. Expertise in stewardship principles for major gifts, bequests, and philanthropic giving. Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing abilities. Strategic thinker with experience in budget management and financial goal delivery. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team. Experience managing donor portfolios, setting income targets, and delivering results. Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and data-driven fundraising strategies.
