The Opportunity Based at our manufacturing plant in Carole Park, the Plant Controller role is responsible for maintaining a system of adequate internal controls and providing financial control to the manufacturing plant. You will work closely with the APAC Manufacturing Finance Lead and Operations Manager to focus on financial and operational improvements, including identifying and driving cost reductions and eliminating potential risks. What you’ll do As the Finance lead for the site, you will play a key role within the site management team. Business partner the Operations Manager to effectively manage and control costs and all facets of the plant’s efficiency and productivity. Lead the month-end close processes for the site, and be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the SAP financial accounts for the manufacturing site, including all associated cost and inventory accounts, preparation and approval of journals, reconciliations, and reporting. Develop and deliver plant forecasts, budgets, and operating plans that align financial targets to plant KPIs, maintain yearly ABC model to ensure accurate product standard cost. Ensure preparation of weekly/monthly operational performance and financial reports. Best Practice champion for internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance and adherence to control policies and procedures. Participate in improvement and integration of cost, financial and manufacturing systems. Participate in on site management meetings, identify and communicate the underlying performance trends for the operations of the site. Support the financial literacy and business acumen of the site leadership team. Support the lean manufacturing focus of the plant by partnering operations in identifying and driving out waste, including the provision of financial validation and reporting, on a weekly and monthly basis. What you’ll bring Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field. Professional accounting certification (CPA/CA) with a recognised professional body is desirable. Minimum 7 years proven accounting experience, with “shop floor” experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge of operational accounting (cost accounting, project costing). Solid understanding of financial analysis processes and procedures within a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to successfully apply forecasting techniques and skills to develop and evaluate business goals and strategies, analyse information to derive insights and implications to initiate planning and/or re planning, and controlling actual results versus budget. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement and influence. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
