You’ll work closely with government agencies, industry leaders, and internal teams to shape policy that supports a skilled and sustainable energy workforce.What you’ll be doing As the Policy Manager , you will: Analyse and monitor policy developments at Commonwealth, state, and territory levels, assessing their impact on workforce planning and skills development. Develop high-quality policy submissions, briefs, and position papers to advocate for effective workforce strategies in the energy sector. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, Jobs and Skills Councils, and industry bodies, to drive meaningful policy change. Align policy recommendations with broader workforce planning objectives, addressing skills gaps and supporting workforce transitions. Provide expert advice on workforce policy, contributing to ministerial briefings, industry forums, and strategic planning efforts. Foster key relationships with government bodies and industry stakeholders to strengthen policy influence. What we’re looking for Qualifications in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Strong knowledge of Australian government policy frameworks at Commonwealth, state, and territory levels. Proven experience in policy analysis and workforce planning. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling advocacy materials. Understanding of energy sector trends and workforce challenges related to net-zero targets.
