No Offer Description Classification: Academic Level A or Level B Salary Package: $85,010 - $131,227 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Full-time, Fixed term (up to 12 months) Position Overview: The Mathematical Sciences Institute is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) or Research Fellow (Level B). This position is funded by two Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery projects awarded to Neil Trudinger and Po-Lam Yung. The primary aim of the positions is to carry out the research programme proposed for the Discovery projects, in collaboration with the two investigators and a range of Australian and international collaborators. The projects involve the study of fully nonlinear partial differential equations and their geometric and physical applications, using various approaches including, in particular, those from harmonic analysis. The level of this appointment, Academic Level A or B, will be determined by the appointee’s level of experience and expertise. Applicants are expected to have an outstanding record in research relative to opportunity, in a field directly relevant to the two projects mentioned above. The ARC grant provides for some funding for international travel for successful applicants to attend conferences and workshops, and to conduct collaborative research with international colleagues.
