Positions may be extended based on successful funding and performance Base salary will be in the range from $80,448.78 to $107,104.10 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A) Based at our Gatton Campus About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for Postdoctoral Research Fellows to focus their efforts on developing their expertise and emerging research profile in the field of weed science. The successful candidates will play a key role in establishing a strong weed science research program, collaborating on projects, and contributing to impactful publications in reputable journals. At this level, it is expected that the researcher will actively seek and manage research funding, apply best-practice research methodologies, and engage in project discussions. Additionally, they will contribute to the supervision and development of students and technical staff, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback.Key Responsibilities Will Include Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, participate in project discussions, and prepare high quality project reports. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. An emerging profile in research in the weed science/agronomy area. Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences. Experience working and traveling in Australia is desirable for this position due to the extensive travel required for weed seed collection and conducting trials on growers’ fields. Excellent verbal communication skills as the position will need to engage regularly with growers and agronomists. Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities.
