The child is at the centre of everything we do. About the Role The After-Hours Service is designed to deliver services to build safety where risk is present, provide help and support to resolve issues, and be responsive to the needs of our children and young people in care, outside of standard business hours. Provide information, advice, and support to all incoming, emergent, and critical after-hours service enquiries in a child-centred, trauma-informed manner. Conditions of Employment Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 pro rata per annum + 11.5% Superannuation Classification: Allied Health Professional Level 1-2 Award/Agreement: Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement Location: South (Hobart), North (Launceston) and North-West (Ulverstone) Hours of Work: This is a shift-based role and includes a combination of day, afternoon and night work, including availability for call-out as rostered. If successful, you must be available to complete approximately 3 months of full-time (Mon-Fri 8:30am -5pm) paid training. Who we’re looking for Our new After-Hours Service gives children and young people 24/7 safety and wellbeing support. Genuine motivation and passion to work with children, young people, and their families. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to change your communication style, remain calm, de-escalate, and manage conflicts. Ability to quickly build rapport and relationships with stakeholders (including families and young people) over the phone and in person. Value working as a member of a team and contributing to a positive team environment. Commitment to self-care, continuous improvement, learning and practice reflection. Individual resilience, emotional intelligence, and the ability to self-reflect. Personal integrity, accountability, and respect for clients. A tertiary qualification approved by the relevant National Board, for example a Bachelor of Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the relevant National Board or professional association; or An alternative tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties. An associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (AQF Level 5 or 6 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties. Current Driver's Licence. The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.
