Job details Position status: Fixed Term Temporary Position type: Flexible full-time Occupational group: Policy & Planning Classification: AO7 Workplace Location: Brisbane Job ad reference: QLD/616949/25 Closing date: 18-Feb-2025 Yearly salary: $130407 - $139830 Fortnightly salary: $4998.50 - $5359.70 Job duration: 31/03/2025 - 14/11/2025 with possible extension The Policy Analysis and Engagement Unit sits within the Transport Policy Branch which shapes the long-term vision for the transport system and sets new directions and priorities for the department. The unit contributes to shaping the future of transport in Queensland through scenario planning, horizon scanning, policy analysis and program management. As Principal Advisor in Policy Analysis and Engagement Unit, some of your responsibilities will include: Conduct horizon scanning, futures and foresight analysis of emerging transport trends and evolving customer needs, to formulate foresight-led recommendations for strategic transport policy solutions. Undertake data analysis, including the development of interactive dashboards and digital solutions, to provide insights that inform strategic transport policy analysis, development, and implementation. Support branch program management and reporting to provide insights on the performance of TMR's strategic policy program. Prepare advice, correspondence, cabinet submissions, policy documents, briefs, presentations, and reports on complex transport policy issues to senior management. This involves engaging with subject matter experts and fostering collaborative relationships across the department, government, and transport sector to achieve desired outcomes. Participate constructively in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement. Undertake ad-hoc tasks as requested to support the Manager and Director. To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: Proven ability to analyse complex issues and apply critical thinking and problem solving skills, to develop and implement policy. Proficient experience in data analysis and visualisation including implementing digital solutions. Experience in program or project management, monitoring and reporting. Proven track record in building and sustaining stakeholder relationships to enable better customer-focused outcomes.
