Job Description

Principal Business Intelligence Developer The purpose of the Principal Business Intelligence Developer role is to support the reporting and analytics requirements of the Patient Administration System data through implementation of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake. This will include gathering stakeholder requirements; establishing data flows; modelling business data structures; building and optimising queries and views; contributing to the sound governance and management of ICT systems and services; documenting strategies, processes and progress. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the business to understand business needs, gather data requirements and develop an enterprise information model and standards. Role responsibilities: Develop transition and target Data Architectures to achieve the strategic objectives. Provide consulting and advice on projects, and work with solution architects to develop and maintain the logical and physical data models, cubes and marts to ensure alignment with the enterprise information model and standards. Perform metadata design and maintenance, developing and maintaining data structures and models suitable for the strategic objectives. Analyse relational data modelling, non-relational data modelling, mapping, system integration, interface design and data migration. Participate in due diligence of new software purchases to maximise alignment with the enterprise data model and standards. Understand and leverage the Enterprise Architecture principles adopted by eHealth Queensland. Demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills at all levels, including consultation and presentation skills and proven ability in negotiation and influencing. You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience: Proven experience in the delivery of complex ICT projects or programs, preferably in the health care industry. Expertise in, and application of, appropriate data management methodologies, and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate data management techniques, methodologies and tools. Four-plus years experience in data modelling and the creation of data marts and analytic products. Proven experience in the creation and maintenance of reporting and business intelligence dashboards (i.e., Power BI, QlikView/QlikSense). Excellent knowledge in SQL server DB Query/Stored procedures and subscription views. Experience in Kimball/Dimensional data modelling design and implementation in Power BI/SSAS. Proven analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
