Job Description

Charles Weston School is a P-6 school with approximately 552 enrolments. Situated in the Molonglo Valley, the school presents a positive contemporary learning environment with highly qualified and dedicated staff. Being an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, the Primary Years Program (PYP) is offered in conjunction with a transdisciplinary programme that uses an inquiry approach. Students are challenged to take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues. The modern and innovative design of the school supports collaboration and inclusion. The school comprises seven buildings, including four classroom units with flexible learning spaces, a multi-purpose resource centre, large sports hall, canteen and various outdoor learning and play spaces. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Prior to commencing in this role, a minimum of four years full-time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; a current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI) and a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
