Job Description

Justice and Attorney-General (Organisation site)Technology Services; Information Technology Services; Corporate Services; Brisbane City As the Principal Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the department's Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environment. This role will require you to work within a specialised Agile DevOps environment within a multi-disciplined team and provide expert advice and support of cloud-based platforms. Key Responsibilities: This role requires you to work with limited supervision in a specialist team and manage the departments Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (M365), and other cloud-based environments. Be part of a specialised Cloud Platforms team responsible for the management, support, and monitoring of cloud-based systems and solutions. Be a technology expert well-versed in Microsoft Azure with a strong focus on networking, experience in Entra, and ensuring security and compliance within the cloud environment. Technical Skills, Abilities, and Cultural Capability: Administer, configure, and maintain cloud services and applications, including Microsoft 365 (M365) and Azure resources and networks. Monitor and manage M365 services such as Entra, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business. Design, configure, and document Azure shared services infrastructure through the use of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) toolsets and practices. Administer and maintain seamless connectivity and optimize network configurations for cloud-based services, collaborating with network teams to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues affecting cloud services. Provide expert advice on solution design to ensure the system design remains robust, fit for purpose, and meets requirements. Other Duties: Document system configuration and procedures ensuring that they are maintained, reflect best practices for system design, and comply with recognised Departmental and Government ICT policies. Implement and manage policies, access controls, and resource optimization in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design Azure cloud solutions that meet business needs. Monitor performance to identify areas of improvement and opportunities to enhance application and platform performance. Monitor cloud costs and usage and provide insights and reports to product owners to optimise spending and budget allocations. Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position as would be reasonably required. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
