Ask us about; Our competitive salary starting from $241,956 + 14.75% super (10 day fortnight) Hybrid & flexible working arrangements Leave offerings (including 14 weeks paid parental leave – at full or half pay, plus additional leave purchasing) Free undercover secure parking, with access to onsite charging stations for electric vehicles The opportunity: As the Principal Engineer for Asset Integrity & Performance, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and performance of the operational assets for our HV transmission network. Leading a team of professional engineers, you will provide expert engineering services with considerable independence and serve as the primary escalation point for complex issues. You will make independent engineering decisions with RPEQ oversight and approval for all asset integrity and performance-related fieldwork. Further to this you will; Lead a team of professional engineers in providing expert engineering services for state-wide asset maintenance Oversee complex engineering investigations into customer outages and plant failures Develop and deliver technical expertise and solutions for operational asset management and asset strategies Provide direction for training programs for field-based staff Ensure the reliable operation of the transmission network through technical support and continuous improvement Oversee the proactive monitoring and analysis of asset performance Provide engineering oversight and address complex issues requiring innovative solutions The people you'll join: Located in our Virginia office, you will be a key member of the Operational Engineering division, ensuring that we are able to provide cost-effective and reliable electricity to Queenslanders. This role works within a supportive team and reports directly to the Manager for Asset Integrity and Performance Solutions. What you'll bring: Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with significant experience in asset integrity and performance Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) You will bring expertise in the design, maintenance, construction, testing, and commissioning of HV plant. You have a deep understanding of advanced engineering principles and applications, and a proven ability to strategically manage transmission plant (HV) to achieve organisational objectives.You have a high-level capability to innovate and recommend advanced work methodologies that optimise efficiency, reliability, and safety while supporting business objectives. You will have experience in leading and developing high-performance engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and professional growth. You will have in-depth knowledge relevant legislative requirements (i.e Electricity Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act), ensuring strict compliance across all operational activities. You will bring a strong understanding of the National Electricity Rules (NER) coupled with proficiency in applying this knowledge across activities to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
