This is a Parental Leave relief role and it is anticipated appointment will be April 2025 to end of May 2026. $112,372pa + 12% superQld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 7 of EBA5 72.5 hour fortnight Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days. Location: Strathpine Join City of Moreton Bay as our Principal Events Officer , and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow. Due to upcoming parental leave, we are on the search to fill this integral leadership role driving a small team focused on delivering well-run, fit-for-purpose events! You will have a strategic approach as you negotiate differing stakeholder perspectives and lead the research, development, management, and delivery of Council’s events programs, special events, and projects to ensure business outcomes are met. Key areas our events team is responsible for include: Community events, Civic Events, Corporate Events, and Facility Openings. A key part of this role is to oversee the contracted services of Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) , who deliver a large calendar of community events on behalf of City of Moreton Bay. Within the term of the parental leave relief role, you will be heavily involved in undertaking a tender process and developing and overseeing a new contract for the delivery of community events. We are seeking a proven leader and expert in event management , contract management , engagement, marketing, and communications. You will be an exceptional communicator, and bring your knowledge and experience coordinating projects and events with government, industry, and community partners. You will bring your exceptional interpersonal skills as a key success factor with this role is to build quality working relationships with a wide array of stakeholders. Your well-developed organisation skills will be paired with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, particularly when dealing with issues of a highly political and sensitive nature. You will be proactive and self-motivated in nature and understand the need to remain adaptable and flexible . Your event industry knowledge will be critical in providing advice to officers, stakeholders, and the elected Council on event-related matters. Experience in delivering community events and managing complex contractual arrangements will be looked upon favourably. Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be willing and able to work outside normal working hours on occasion, including weekends and public holidays as required. Why City of Moreton Bay?
