The Property Management branch develops and implements a “whole of Council” approach to the management of Council’s property portfolio to ensure that the use of the property assets is optimized, centrally managed, and supports Council’s objectives. This role will provide leadership and technical expertise to the branch and organization in relation to facilities asset management, ensuring that Council’s buildings and facilities are proactively maintained to planned standards. Key responsibilities will include: Provide leadership of the Knowledge and Performance Team to support the delivery of Branch Operational Plan required to deliver on Council’s corporate plan and its vision for the region and the community. Lead and contribute to the ongoing development and operation of the Asset Management System, retention, and updating of technical documentation, condition assessment, and asset performance reporting to inform empirical lifecycle CWP forecasting and Asset Management Plans for buildings and facilities. Lead and oversee the preparation and continuous management of a rolling 10-year Capital Works Program for the Property Management building and facilities portfolio inclusive of the network planning of facilities to meet community and regional needs (Public Amenities). Provide support and assistance in the development of master plans and strategies for implementation across the building portfolio. Manage the Workplaces Accommodation and upgrade/refurbishment programs to ensure fit-for-purpose contemporary office facilities for Council. Manage the organization-wide building security management system, inclusive of the access control platform, optical surveillance network, key management, and cyber security requirements in accordance with the Optical Surveillance Operational Policy. About you As a professional in the business, you will hold a relevant formal qualification (Degree) in asset management, facilities management, project management, contract management, or building and construction and/or extensive relevant experience in the discipline. Postgraduate qualification desirable. You will possess extensive experience in asset management, with a focus on Capital Works planning within a large and diverse portfolio of buildings, facilities, and community infrastructure. You will have extensive experience working within the relevant legislation, preferably with a technical background or otherwise demonstrated ability to operate effectively between the trade industry and local government business processes. It is essential to possess strong leadership skills to successfully lead a team of senior facility officers, with demonstrated decision-making ability and the capacity to develop goals, plans, systems, and projects to achieve team objectives and aspirations consistent with Council’s corporate values.
