The Human Resources Branch has a permanent opportunity for a high performing HR data engineer to join the HR Business Intelligence team. In the demanding HR landscape, the HR Business Intelligence team is responsible for maintaining and reporting on various Department of Health’s HR Data and Reporting solutions. As the Principal HR Data Engineer, you will develop and maintain robust data models and pipelines, ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability. You will be required to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring they understand the implications and benefits of data solutions. The Principal HR Data Engineer works collaboratively within a dynamic reporting unit to handle urgent data requests efficiently and actively engages in hands-on technical work, including coding, debugging, and optimizing data processes. The successful person You will have demonstrated: Excellent knowledge of SQL and data modelling, with a strong understanding of industry best practices. Ability to provide advice and guidance to support the adoption of, and adherence to, defined policies and standards. Ability to collaborate as part of formal or informal discussions and understands requirements by collecting data and delivering analysis, ensuring the proposed initiative is properly understood and utilized appropriately. Proven ability to monitor service delivery against service level agreements and analyze service delivery performance to identify actions required to maintain or improve levels of service.
