Education (Organisation site)Languages & Culture, First Nations Strategy & Partnerships Division Are you interested in supporting the strategic initiative that contributes to the department's commitments to valuing First Nations cultures and voices to connect to culture and to enrich the learning of all students?The First Nation Strategy and Partnerships team is looking for someone who is eager to lead, plan, and develop resources to build teachers' capabilities to engage with the cross-curriculum programs in teaching and learning.The role of Principal Project Officer (Identified) is offered on a permanent full-time basis. Some travel may be needed for this position. Key Responsibilities: Develop resources, provide training and mentoring support for school/regional staff to enhance cultural capability and understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices. Deliver the train-the-trainer package for Crossing Cultures Intelligences packages and other support to enhance cultural capabilities. Create materials and resources to support embedding the cross curriculum priority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures as outlined in the Australian Curriculum. Establish productive educational networks and maintain positive relationships and working partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, and individuals. Minimum Requirements: Demonstrated specialist curriculum development skills and extensive knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, particularly the cross curriculum priority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures. Proven research experience, including the development of measurable and analytical tools to ensure program delivery aligns with the priorities of First Nation Strategy and Partnerships. Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver a repertoire of culturally responsive pedagogical experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver quality and effective teaching and learning resources by using and modelling effective and productive work practices enabled by digital technologies. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, and individuals. Proven competency and currency of knowledge of relevant curriculum programs as required by the department or other relevant statutory authorities. About You: Great time management. Mandatory Requirements for Identified Role: It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.
