A unique opportunity exists for a dedicated and innovative individual to contribute to the role of the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, in reducing risk to children's safety, driving voluntary service compliance and promoting continuous quality improvement in education and care services across Queensland.As Principal Regulatory Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring services adhere to complex legislation and standards. This temporary vacancy is located in the Brisbane Central Office and is available for an immediate start until 5 October 2025, unless otherwise determined.About Us The Queensland Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (ECRA) is responsible for regulating the early childhood education and care sector. ECRA supports approved providers of education and care services to meet their legal responsibilities by providing information and advice, but also takes regulatory action as necessary when requirements are not met.The role presents an exciting opportunity to work with our partners and stakeholders to deliver meaningful and efficient regulatory processes and guide services' quality improvement.About The Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work in a multidisciplinary team that undertakes complex regulatory activities, makes recommendations and decisions that support the Regulatory Authority to undertake its functions under the legislation and in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making. Provide recommendations that are informed by data, analysis of evidence and accurate interpretation of the legislation. Prepare accurate, high-level documentation to a range of stakeholders on matters relating to early childhood education and care regulation including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions and executive recommendations. Be highly organised, agile and have experience managing competing priorities. Apply effective communication, conflict resolution and relationship building skills with early childhood education and care providers, services and other regulatory staff to develop and implement strategies to deliver regulatory objectives. Highly Desirable Skills and Experience Have a strong background in the assessment and rating of early childhood education and care services; or have experience as a regulator. Have the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of regulating the ECEC sector. Excel in administrative tasks, coordination, and reporting, ensuring high-quality outcomes in all aspects of their work. Be adaptable and capable of working both in a collaborative team and independently. Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships inside and outside the organisation.
