As a Principal SecOps Engineer, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our security operations strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our cloud-based systems and data. You will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and IT teams to design and deploy security solutions that meet the highest standards of performance and compliance. Role Responsibilities Lead the SecOps team and provide technical guidance to engineers and other security professionals. Develop and drive the security operations strategy, policies, and best practices. Ensure that security is integrated throughout the development lifecycle, from planning to deployment. Oversee the security of AWS infrastructure, services, and applications. Design and implement robust cloud security architectures, including monitoring, access control, and vulnerability management. Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments, identifying and mitigating risks. Lead security incident response efforts, ensuring rapid identification, containment, and resolution of security incidents. Develop and refine incident response playbooks and post-incident reports. Coordinate cross-functional teams during security incidents to mitigate impact and prevent future breaches. Build and maintain automated security monitoring and alerting systems. Continuously evaluate and implement security tools to enhance threat detection, response, and prevention. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR). Assist in audit and compliance efforts, providing necessary documentation and support for external audits. Work closely with cross-functional teams to build a strong security-first culture within the company. Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, learning-driven environment. Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and share knowledge with the broader team. Role Requirements 8+ years of experience in security operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Extensive experience with AWS cloud security, including security architecture, threat detection, incident response, and governance. Strong knowledge of security frameworks, compliance standards, and regulations (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR). Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, endpoint protection). Expertise in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform). Deep understanding of security best practices and incident response workflows. Proven ability to work under pressure, with a track record of successfully managing security incidents. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
