The Process Improvement Specialist is an all-rounder who will apply their technical skills to a variety of operational problems and improvement projects to add-value in the Metro operations. Location of the role is flexible, however success in the role will require spending time onsite, onboard vessels, at project sites, working from an office, or remotely from home. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different environments are essential for this role. Role and responsibilities Working across the business, in this role you will be challenged with a diverse range of opportunities to contribute your skills and experience to improving and understanding our operations. Reporting to the General Manager, Technical, Projects and Improvement, this role contributes through: Applying your problem solving and improvement skills to identify, assess and support implementation of improvement initiatives across the Bauxite value chain. Project management and tracking key projects in the business. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyse data and make informed recommendations. Preparation of funding requests, project information reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team and Board as required. Providing guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and technical teams, to align with overall business objectives. About You You will be innovative and agile, looking for a role where you will be part of positive change. You will be responsible for actively supporting a team focused on operational excellence and insights-driven decision making. To be considered for this opportunity you must have a good number of the following attributes: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Previous experience in the mining, marine or related industry highly regarded but not essential. Exposure to improvement programs such as Lean highly regarded. Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure strong working relationships for key outcomes. Ability to analyse data and make informed recommendations. Proven track record in project development and delivery within the mining or similar industry. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Microsoft Power BI or similar reporting highly regarded but not essential. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
