We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team and help us achieve our goals. About the role: We are seeking a highly motivated and confident individual ready to step up and take on the role of Procurement Manager. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to design and lead our procurement operations, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to provide quality waste management services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and sustainability. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement innovative procurement strategies to meet the company's needs and objectives. Lead the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers. Conduct business needs assessment, supply market analysis and commercial risk assessments to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions. Develop, manage and lead sourcing activities to establish sound supply arrangements to meet organisational and business needs. Build contract management plans, negotiate changes and modifications and manage supplier performance and compliance. Lead and manage contract negotiations for the establishment and review of supply arrangements, driving value-for-money outcomes and ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Perform cost analysis, identify cost reduction strategies, and contribute to the monitoring of benefits delivered, both financial and non-financial. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all business units to provide strategic procurement advice, promote adherence to preferred supplier arrangements, and monitor compliance with procurement policies and contracts to ensure consistency across branches. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and performance metrics. Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or aligned related field. 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or contract management, preferably in the waste management, environmental services, utilities or logistics-heavy industry. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven business acumen, negotiation expertise, and experience in managing supplier relationships. Extensive experience in procuring and managing a range of contracts, from low to high value, including complex agreements. Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to quickly understand new concepts, industries, and complex operational environments. Knowledge of key market trends and industry dynamics. Proficiency in procurement software and data analytics tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental regulations is a plus.
