Product Manager – Laboratory Instrumentation About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join the Product Management team at Cell Biosciences as a Product Manager – Laboratory Instrumentation. In this full-time role based in Melbourne, Victoria, you will play a key part in driving the development and growth of our laboratory instrumentation product line. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing product strategy to meet the evolving needs of our customers in all aspects of the microbiology industry. What you'll be doing Manage Product Portfolio: Oversee a diverse range of scientific products from overseas suppliers to ensure they meet market demands and align with business objectives. Supplier Collaboration: Build strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and ensure timely delivery of quality products. Market & Customer Insights: Conduct market research, gather customer feedback, and monitor industry trends to inform product decisions and shape our product strategy. Sales Support: Work closely with sales teams to develop effective product positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional materials. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure products comply with relevant regulations and quality standards to maintain safety and integrity. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage stock levels, optimize product turnover, and minimize risks related to inventory management. Promotions & Marketing: Work with marketing teams to create campaigns that drive product awareness and boost sales across multiple channels. Customer Engagement: Foster long-term relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored solutions. Technical Support: Conduct installations, including performing IQ's and OQ's, and assisting customers with their PQ. Interstate travel: As needed is a requirement of the position. What we're looking for 3-5 years of experience in product management, preferably in the microbiology or laboratory instrumentation industry. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as microbiology, electrical engineering or life sciences. Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and go-to-market strategies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex customer requirements into actionable product plans. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Familiarity with market research, competitor analysis, and pricing strategies. Technical aptitude and the ability to understand complex scientific instrumentation. Technical aptitude in performing minor repairs and customisations to the instrumentation you support.
