See yourself in our team The Everyday Business Banking team supports the full spectrum of customers’ needs from the smallest businesses to the largest corporates.The Payments Acceptance Team supports our merchant customers to operate and grow their business, through the provision of innovative payment solutions that help them better engage with their customers and suppliers. We are accountable for the end-to-end business customer experience and the delivery of capabilities to support our business customers. We are seeking an experienced Product Owner (Manager or Senior Manager) to join the team. Do work that matters This role reports into the Crew Lead, Core Acquiring Platforms and will be responsible for leading and defining the product vision, goals, and roadmap for the Merchant Back Office Squad. This includes delivering and running best-in-class merchant back office and settlement capability to enhance the experiences for our merchants and back office teams including operations, reconciliations, and finance. Apply your domain expertise in Merchant Acquiring, Back Office automation, or Finance transformation to support prioritization and successful achievement of business and squad objectives. Key areas of impact and contribution include: Manage a mix of internal product and back office stakeholders and external vendors to run and deliver our Merchant Back office capability. Deliver in line with our operational risk and issue management frameworks and identify opportunities for automated controls. Manage any potential risks, issues, and incidents that may arise in Merchant Back Office. Contribute to best practices for the Product Owner community within CBA. Define product vision, goals, and roadmap, aligned to Crew objectives and purpose, and engage with key stakeholders (Business and Technology) to manage its delivery. Accountable for end-to-end value delivery and product lifecycle management (including managing requirements lifecycle, production deployment, and release day coordination and sign-off). Works with the squad and the crew to determine who is best to perform change request and delivery framework-related administrative tasks. Act as the voice of the customer and business and translate this for the squad. Apply expertise to support prioritization, balance trade-offs, and explore strategies to successfully achieve business and customer outcomes. Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions, and resolving escalations. Drive product exploration (e.g., using design thinking and analytics) and formulate hypotheses to validate product strategy/design. Ensure all obligations across customer, regulatory, internal policy, and process frameworks (e.g., GDF, PDDP, CMRS) are fully met and satisfied. Identify, articulate, and manage risks, dependencies, and compliance across streams of work (e.g., customer propositions). Maintain a healthy and prioritized backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes. Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritization is understood and agreed to. Manage the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc. Role model continuous improvement and customer focus. Drive squad effectiveness and agile maturity (i.e., sprint burn down, release burn up, and squad/team health) in partnership with Agile Coaches and Performance Leads. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Proven Product Owner or Product Management experience, preferably Merchant Acquiring, Scheme, Back Office or Finance Transformation related. Experience in defining product roadmaps and delivery of product vision. Experience working with external vendors to deliver against a product roadmap and vision. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience with Agile methodology and PACE model would be ideal. Experience managing Risks and Product Compliance. Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. Ability to think strategically and analytically using data and insights to make decisions.
