About the Opportunity We are seeking a proactive Product Technologist on a part-time basis based in Macquarie Park. You will wholly be responsible to ensure that all products are compliant with market legislation and comply to brand standards. The ideal candidate should be able to manage suppliers, sites and specifications database and their completion to gold standard of the quality, safety and legality of our private label products. In this Role Responsible for the quality, safety and legality of all Metcash sourced and developed private label products Supplier and site approval and ongoing management Product specification approval, validation and ongoing management Responsible for artwork approval and creation of legally compliant label, supported by relevant due diligence documentation and traceability Support supplier & product development compliance to brand standards (Packaging/Claims) Actively work with private label suppliers to mitigate risks of customer complaints, withdrawals and / or recalls Efficient & timely management of any product issues against agreed framework Reporting against key projects, industry targets and able to handle ad hoc project management for joined team’s deliverables Ongoing focus and contribution to continuous improvement You’re Likely a Match If Exposure to food / non-food experience in the product technology industry or FMCG sector Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Applied Science or similar industry recognised qualification Excellent understanding of end-to-end product lifecycle and required validation steps & experience in traceability and due diligence validation Detailed knowledge of all relevant legislative requirements relating to safe & legal food Confident in manufacturing requirement and skilled at coaching against best industry practice – auditing experienced preferred Able to excite, motivate and lead stakeholders to achieve targets on time Great communication skills and excellent people skills Comfortable being autonomous and perform in agile working environment Life at Metcash Experience a supportive and flexible work environment.
