Red Gem Growers & Packers located in Nar Nar Goon in the outer south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne is a Quality Assured grower and packer of Potatoes and Onions for the Australian and Overseas Markets including the major supermarkets. We are currently looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our growing team and be part of our exciting journey. To be successful in this opportunity you must have: Hands-on experience in food production or a similar industry. Team Leader or Leading Hand experience with demonstrated people management skills. Understanding of WHS, QA and Food Safety Procedures. Willingness to learn all aspects of operations leadership in the production and warehousing function to not only grow the business but grow in the business. Your Role: As a member of the production operations team, you’ll play an important role in mirroring learning from our production manager and ensuring our teams run efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: Provide assistance and support to the Production Manager, QA & Safety Officer. Monitor quality control throughout the production process, ensuring products meet all specifications. Operate food processing and packaging machinery. Uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality. Perform general duties as directed by the Production Manager. Assist with on-the-job training to production staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Lead by example, promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Assist with maintenance of machinery under the guidance of the Maintenance Team. Monitor raw materials, WIP, and finished goods quality control. Supervise and motivate production teams, driving a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Review and introduce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for our production/warehouse areas. Help conduct Risk/Hazard Analyses and develop the relevant SOP or Work Instructions for the safe handling/operating/function of the production floor. Who You Are: You're honest, reliable, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You thrive in fast-paced environments, are adaptable, and excel at multitasking. Whether you're working autonomously or as part of a team, you bring a positive, proactive attitude. Requirements: Current driver’s license and reliable car. Hold a current forklift licence. Ability to work after hours and Saturdays if production demands. We pay above Award, and your remuneration will reflect experience. Ready to Apply?
